Team Player

Being a team player is one of the most important skills an employee must possess to be a valuable asset to his/her organization. They must have the courage to rely on a group. They must understand that together they can always accomplish much more than they ever could on their own. That’s teamwork! But for teams to work, members must understand their roles in making things happen for their team.
As a trainer, it’s your job to help your organization’s bottom line. You play an important part by teaching the skills your employees need to become valuable, competent team players. The purpose of this program is to teach individuals to work together more effectively as a team when problem solving, brainstorming, or taking responsibility for results. The training program will strengthen each participant’s ability to function in a team environment and ensure the overall success of a team’s efforts.
Video Synopsis
Team Player tells the story of individuals within a company who are joined as a team to solve a problem. Ted, the team leader, has problems keeping his team on track. During team meetings, Barry and Mildred bicker with each other, while Jackie wastes the others’ time by making phone calls. Ray is disinterested and falls asleep. Tina seems disinterested, although she’s the only one who can visualize a solution, and she keeps it to herself. Finally, Tina tells everyone they must set aside their problems and learn how to work together as a team.
The team decides to take responsibility for solving the problem, rather than blaming each other. Then, to keep themselves on track, the team adopts a simple set of rules designed to give every member of the team a chance to express him- or herself. Each person is allowed to present ideas and to question the others about their ideas. The team makes sure no one wastes the team’s time—team time belongs no one wastes the team’s time—team time belongs derogatory comments about anyone else on the team or any of the ideas being discussed.
